November was declared as Domestic Violence Prevention Month. Displays are set up at various locations consisting of posters, information, pamphlets, handouts & purple ribbons that the public are asked to wear in acknowledgement of Domestic Violence, what it is, who it affects and how. We also do various presentations throughout the community and surrounding area and educational groups on domestic violence. White ribbons are available at all the Domestic Violence displays throughout the area. The white ribbon represents a personal pledge never to commit, condone nor remain silent about violence against women. The White Ribbon Campaign is about men working to end men’s violence against women. The Women’s Resource Centre welcomes any men who support us in our cause to join in our efforts to eliminate violence against women and children.
